The SanLin Railroad

I am a very amateur model railroader that has just started back after about 6 years of living in an apartment and not having room for a layout. Here I will be sharing some of my journey back into the hobby I love. I am not a professional and will never claim to be skilled at anything you see on this blog but I have a deep passion for trains that goes back to my Grandfather's love of model railroading.

Catch up on Current Construction

The controls for my trains!

I run Union Pacific trains which is what Pops used to run.

An engine given to me by Pops.

I also run Aberdeen and Rockfish which is a local North Carolina Line that Dad and I found.

Engine given to me by my Dad.

The beginning of the SanLin railroad.  I started out by putting all the track down with thumbtacks first.

After figuring out where I wanted the track to run I needed to add a little height to it and I put roadbed down on the lower track.

The positioning and beginning of my mountains.

View of the other side of the table.

One of the mountains.  Almost finished it's shell.

The foam placed where the Apple Orchard and lake are going to be!

The other mountain takes shape!

First layer of plaster has been laid.

First coat of gray paint!
